Flower Power: How to Beat Constipation as a Floral Wedding Pro

by | Oct 27, 2022

So, you want to know how to avoid feeling bloated, sluggish, and constipated while you’re hustling your way to creating the perfect wedding? Well, first let’s talk about the elephant in the room: hydration. I know, I know – it’s a cliche. But trust me, it’s essential.

So, you’re a florist, huh?

That means you’re constantly on the move, lugging heavy boxes of blooms, and creating stunning arrangements for weddings. I’m familiar with it, if you couldn’t tell!

But even with all that exercise, you’re still struggling with constipation.

What gives?

Let’s start with what you should avoid – processed foods.

I know, I know – sometimes it feels like it’s the only option when you’re short on time. But trust me, avoiding those pre-packaged meals and snacks will do wonders for your digestive system.

Instead, try to incorporate a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other high-fiber foods into your daily routine. And, of course, don’t forget about the importance of hydration. Drink water throughout the day – at least 8 glasses – to keep things moving (if you catch my drift).

But sometimes, even with all the right foods and hydration, we still struggle with constipation.

That’s where talking to a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) can come in handy.

I can work with you to create a personalized plan that meets your specific needs, schedule and dietary restrictions. Trust me, it’s worth investing in your health – after all, you deserve to feel your best both on and off the job.

And speaking of investing in your health, self-monitoring and self-advocating is key. Keep a log of when you’re feeling constipated and try to identify patterns – maybe certain foods trigger it or stress plays a role. It’s important to be your own advocate and speak up to your doctor if something doesn’t feel right.

But let’s take a step back for a minute.

As a wedding pro, you’re all about simplifying your life, right?

So, whether you’re a florist, caterer, planner, or photographer – always remember to take care of yourself so you can continue to make magic happen.
