Nourishing Your Journey: A Mindful Approach for the Wedding Professional

by | Jul 30, 2023

Creating unforgettable wedding experiences for your couples, is exhausting.  Trust me, I know, I’ve been exactly where you are.

It was all too easy for me to lose sight of my own health well-being. And I bet you’re doing the same. Easily sacrifice your needs for others, neglecting your physical and emotional health. And afterwards you feel the effects of it.  Your body is sore after a long day, you’re hangry, you’re nursing a headache as you execute wedding day plans, you’re utterly exhausted and cannot muster up enough energy to even microwave a meal.

I want you to understand something so important…

Your food choices extend beyond mere sustenance.

The stress, emotions, and demanding schedules of the wedding industry often lead to you to mindless eating and succumbing to cravings. But by making intentional choices, you can nourish your body and mind, creating a lasting, healthy routine that complements your journey of bringing wedding dreams to life.

— also a routine that…

YOU LOVE.

ONE THAT MAKES YOU FEEL AMAZING.

& YOU DESERVE IT!

Unveiling the Power of Mindful Eating

Imagine this: it’s another chaotic day filled with wedding preparations. The clock is ticking, and your stress levels are rising. You realize you haven’t eaten all day and your chance to pull in to a 7-11 convenience store is right now before you get to the venue. And there you are in the snack aisle searching for your fav salty and/or sweet treat. Sound TOO familiar?

You often neglect your own well-being, turning to food for comfort or a much needed energy boost.

I want to introduce you to the concept of mindful eating, where each selection is a conscious choice. Each bite is a conscious choice.

It begins by taking a moment to check in with yourself.

Are you truly hungry, or is there an underlying emotional or mental need that craves attention?

Maybe you’re seeking solace in a small piece of dark chocolate, or perhaps you haven’t eaten all day and your body longs for a nourishing meal.

By pausing to understand your true needs, you can make intentional choices that genuinely satisfy both your body and mind. Mindful eating will empower you to navigate the intricacies of your food choices, acknowledging the deeper reasons behind them.

Creating Intentions for Nourishment

Now, picture this: you’re in the middle of a wedding event, and the wedding day schedule is jam-packed. You feel that need come on for a salty or sugary snack— and want to grab whatever is convenient to fuel your body, even if it’s not the healthiest option. But what if you shift the narrative? Imagine planning and preparing your meals in advance, ensuring that you have nourishing options readily available. And then when those moments strike you’re ready to defeat them head on?

Taking the time to prepare means taking care of yourself.

It means choosing meals that provide a balance of essential nutrients, such as protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. These macronutrients will sustain your energy levels, keeping you focused and revitalized throughout your demanding day.

Moreover, portion control is vital. I want you to savor your meals without feeling weighed down or sluggish afterward. By listening to your body’s cues of fullness and satisfaction, you can strike a beautiful balance between fueling yourself adequately and avoiding excess consumption, and chance of a midday, unwanted energy crash.

The Transformation Within Mindfulness

Close your eyes and envision a moment of peace amidst the wedding chaos. Picture yourself engaging in a short meditation or deep breathing exercise to alleviate stress and regain focus. Are you saying to yourself? Pshhh yeah right.

Trust me, I know that feeling well.  But when I started to figure out ways to remind myself and actually started practicing it, it became much easier to do.

Your mental and emotional well-being is just as important as your physical health.

By embracing mindfulness practices, you can enhance your self-awareness and nurture your overall well-being. These practices can take many forms: a mindful walk during a break, a moment of gratitude for the beauty surrounding you, or simply taking a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Gratitude is an attitude.

Remember, your journey as a wedding professional is a marathon, not a sprint. Nurturing your physical, mental and emotional health allows you to navigate the pressures and demands of the industry with grace and resilience.

Are you finally ready to prioritize your own well-being alongside the dreams you bring to life for others. By embracing mindful eating and making intentional choices, you can nourish your body and mind in a way that supports your long-term health and happiness.

And it is truly my greatest honor to support you to bring your dreams to life.
