Pizza, Flowers, and Finding Balance:  How One Wedding Pro Became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

by | May 24, 2023

Let’s start this blog post off with a confession – I used to be a wedding florist.

That’s right, I spent six years knee-deep in flowers, deliveries, and more wedding drama than you can shake a bouquet at. But as much as I loved my job, I found myself burning out quickly, struggling to balance work, school, and taking care of myself.

That’s when I realized I needed a change.

And that’s how I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who specializes in helping wedding professionals beat burnout, find balance, and create healthy habits that last.

It’s been quite the journey, but I couldn’t be happier with where I am now.

Why I Started My Business

When I left my job as a wedding florist, I knew I still wanted to work in the wedding industry. But I also knew I needed to take a different approach to my work if I was going to avoid burnout. That’s why I started my business, which is all about helping wedding professionals prioritize self-care and create healthy habits that last.

Whether you’re a wedding planner, photographer, florist, or any other type of wedding pro, I want to help you find balance and create a supportive, inspiring space where you can thrive. Because let’s be real – the wedding industry can be crazy, but it can also be incredibly fulfilling.

What Is the Goal of My Business

My goal is simple – to help wedding professionals move beyond burnout and create balance in their lives. I know from firsthand experience just how challenging it can be to balance work, school, and taking care of yourself in the wedding industry. But I also know that it’s possible to find balance and create healthy habits that last.

That’s why I’m committed to providing wedding pros with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive in this incredible, hectic industry. Because when we take care of ourselves, we can do our best work and live our best lives.

Why My Brand Exists

My brand exists because I want to create a supportive and inspiring space where wedding professionals can find the help they need to beat burnout, prioritize self-care, and create healthy habits. Whether you’re struggling with stress, sleep, nutrition, or anything else, I want to be there to support you and help you create a more balanced, fulfilling life.

After all, the wedding industry can be incredibly rewarding, but it’s also incredibly demanding. That’s why I believe it’s so important to take care of ourselves in order to do our best work.

Why I Do What I Do

I do what I do because I believe that wedding professionals deserve to thrive in their work and in their lives. I believe that we can create healthy habits that last, even in the midst of a demanding, fast-paced industry. And I believe that with the right support and tools, we can all find the balance we need to do our best work and live our best lives.

My Journey to Becoming an RDN

Oh boy, where do I begin with my journey to becoming an RDN? Well, let me tell you, it was quite a ride! It all started when I realized that I needed to start taking better care of myself after my Uncle Stephen passed away. I was a wedding florist at the time, and let me tell you, I was not eating my veggies or drinking my water like I should have been.

So, one day while working part-time at some random gym, I met with the nutritionist there, and she gave me the scoop on a nutrition program. And let me tell you, it was like a light bulb went off in my head! I just knew this was my destiny. I mean, what better way to honor my Uncle Stephen than by taking care of myself and helping others do the same?

From there, I fell head over heels for nutrition and healthy living. I knew I wanted to make it my career, so I went back to school and double-majored in nutrition and dietetics and psychology. It was no easy feat, let me tell you. I had to move back home with my parents (who are lovely, but still parents) and work a so-called “part-time” job to make ends meet.

But to be honest, it was all worth it. I was learning so much about how to take care of myself, and I knew I could use that knowledge to help others. I just never thought I’d end up focusing all of my efforts on working as a wedding professional.

So, How Can I Help You?
