Working in the wedding industry is no walk in the park. As someone who has experienced the pressure and stress firsthand, I understand the desire to unwind with a drink. 

But let’s remember, moderation is key when it comes to alcohol.

Although a couple of drinks may offer temporary relief, they aren’t a long-term solution. In fact, studies have shown that alcohol can contribute to stress eating and leave us feeling drained. It’s a vicious cycle – we drink to ease the stress, only to feel worse after indulging in unhealthy foods.

Exercise: Energize Your Body and Mind.

Physical activity is a great stress reliever. Really it is.  Even if you don’t feel like doing it, it will continue to be the best medicine for stress.  Let me tell you why. It releases endorphins and clears the mind. Consider dedicating some time before or after work to exercise. You can try yoga, take a walk or jog, or simply do some light stretches. Every type of movement counts!

Mindfulness: Find Calm in the Present Moment.

Practicing mindfulness through activities like meditation and deep breathing works wonders for reducing stress. Focus on the present, let go of worries about the past or future, and soothe your mind. When I was feeling go-go-go while working at the flower shop I used to count backwards, 5-4-3-2-1 and practice mindfulness just taking a deep long breath in and out worked wonders and helped me slow down so I was able to focus and continue, positively and energized with my long work day. 

Talking it Out: Seek Support and Share Your Burdens

Sometimes, all we need is someone to listen and empathize. Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or even a therapist. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
